Waltmann Trade is a young sourcing company based in Germany. We don't manufacture ourselves: we find the right manufacturer for your food packaging, check the plant, samples and production, and arrange delivery – with one point of contact.
01 / 05Drawing and specification
It starts with an unambiguous drawing: shape, material, fill volume and neck finish. Everything checked later is written down here in black and white.
02 / 05Dimensions and details
We define the critical dimensions with tolerances – down to the neck and thread, where the closure and the filling line are most sensitive.
03 / 05Material and food contact
For the material we request the EU food-contact evidence: declaration of compliance and migration testing from accredited laboratories.
04 / 05Sample before shipping
Before shipping we inspect an AQL sample against the approved reference. Every part is measured, every result documented.
05 / 05Approval and delivery
Only when every point is met do the goods go on their way. You get the inspection report – and packaging that fits.
From blank to pallet
How a carton that carries the load comes together
We source shipping cartons and folding boxes with the same care: from the die-cut layout through material and print to the fully loaded pallet.
01 / 05Die-cut layout and specification
Every carton starts with a die-cut layout: cut and crease lines, flaps and inside dimensions, matched to your product.
02 / 05Material and construction
We fix board grade, grammage and flute type in writing. They decide strength, printability and price.
03 / 05Print and food contact
We check print and colours against the approved proof. For direct food contact we make sure fibres and inks are suitable and add a barrier where needed.
04 / 05Erecting and compression test
Samples are erected, filled and tested for compression strength, so the carton holds on the pallet and in the warehouse.
05 / 05Palletising and approval
Pallet pattern, number of layers and load securing are fixed before shipping. Only then do we release the goods.

Quality isn't only checked at the end. We inspect at every point where a mistake would get expensive later.
01Before the first order
Plant assessment
Certificates, capacity, machinery and hygiene – on site or through an appointed inspector, before a plant produces for you.
02Before approval
Sample check
Dimensions to drawing, fit with the closure, print and material. In parallel you test the samples on your line.
03First series parts
Production start
We compare the first parts from series production with the approved sample before large volumes run.
04Running production
During production
Samples from running production show early whether dimensions, colour and finish stay stable.
05Goods packed
Before shipping
AQL sampling (ISO 2859-1): dimensions, appearance, function, marking and packing. You receive the report with photos.
06At loading
Loading check
Quantity, palletising, condition of container or truck, and seal – documented before the goods leave the plant.
The rules that apply
Food packaging is subject to clear requirements in the EU and in Germany. We make sure your goods meet them and the documents are complete.

- Food contact
- All materials must comply with Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 and be made under good manufacturing practice per Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006. Plastics must also meet Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 – with a declaration of compliance and migration testing.
- Paper and board
- For paper and board in direct food contact we follow BfR Recommendation XXXVI. With recycled fibre we watch for mineral oil residues and add a barrier where needed.
- German Packaging Act
- Whoever first places filled packaging on the German market must register in the LUCID packaging register and join a dual system. We point this out and supply the quantities per material.
- EU Packaging Regulation
- Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR) has applied since August 2026. We request the manufacturers' conformity documents and keep track of the next stages, such as recyclability and labelling.
- Customs and delivery terms
- We agree delivery terms clearly under Incoterms 2020. For goods from Türkiye we arrange the A.TR movement certificate so no customs duty applies under the customs union; import VAT still applies.
